A New Home on the Lake (2021)

This proposed new home is sited across the road from Lake Ontario. The living areas are planned around the wooded green spaces of the site and the main rooms open to exterior garden terraces. Natural light and connection to the site are integral to the design.

The formal living room overlooks the creek to the N, the casual living area opens to the rear yard (W) and a rooftop space takes advantage of the beautiful views in 3 directions. The living room in the rendering is defined by large windows, 12’ ceilings and a floor that extends to an exterior terrace and garden, giving the client a room filled with natural light. The room connects visually with the garden, neighborhood street and views to the Lakeshore beyond. Every room in this proposed new home makes a unique connection to the site and exterior environment. This particular one is designed specifically for a grand piano that will be used by the owner for recitals.
