A Kitchen Banquette Interior (2016)
This banquette was designed and constructed from two 13’-0” long recycled church pews. The solid oak pews were cut and reconstructed to perfectly fit the space in an “L” formation.
The bench pushes the seating to the perimeter of the space and allows for more people to sit in the small area than would otherwise be possible with a table in the center of the space. The seating is relaxed and gives the space some flexibility of use while allowing people to look outside and enjoy the long views. People love to spend time here and it provides the perfect seating arrangement for social occasions. The warm LED lighting combined with the natural hues of the oak wood give the space a lovely warmth, particularly in the dark days of winter.
The restored stained glass window is from a 1911 home in Southwestern Ontario and was restored by Rubaiyat Stained Glass Gallery in Calgary.
